FAQs.....
Here are the most frequently asked questions. We hope these may
answer any further queries that you may have:
• What do I need to bring?
Our aim is for you to enjoy your holiday from the moment you drive
away. Your chosen campervan will be equipped with essentials from
the all important corkscrew to boring washing up liquid. For your
convenience we are able to provide sheets, duvets, pillowcases
and towels, but please note these are at an extra cost. If however,
you are bringing your own bedding, please remember to bring a
base sheet.
As space is limited, we recommend that you travel light, although
awnings are available (please see our extras page) and these will
double the amount of living space you have on your chosen campsite.
Please do not forget both parts of your driving licence, your
passport and another form of identification such as a recent utility
bill.
• Where is The Celtic Camper Company located?
We are located in the Village of Llangynog on the B4391 right
on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Please see our detailed
map HERE

• Are the Campervans easy to drive?
Van Halen and Van Outen are modern vans, but they still have the
feel and sound of an original camper. Van Morrison is a classic
type 2, and as Zach would say ‘is like driving an armchair!’
The large window combined with their height makes driving in Wales
a wonderful experience – you and your passengers can see
over the hedgerows and beyond. Please bear in mind that the campervans
are not fast vehicles, and really have a maximum
speed of approx 60 mph – but hey, you’re on holiday,
there’s no rush – remember our motto ‘getting
there is half the fun!’
• What cooking facilities does the van have?
All of our campervans are equipped with a two ring gas hob and
grill.
• What are The Celtic Camper Company opening hours?
Our office opening hours are: Monday to Friday 9.30am until 5.30pm,
Saturdays 10.00am until 1.00pm. Please note that we are closed
on Sundays.
• Can we leave our car with you, while we are away
in the Campervan?
Yes, you are welcome to leave your car at our premises; this service
is free of charge but entirely at your own risk.
• How old do we have to be, to be able to hire
one of your campervans?
Ideally 25 years and older. We are able to insure other ages,
but this is subject to our insurers and there will be further
charges. For a quote, please do not hesitate to contact us on
01691 860569.
• Can we have more than one driver for the Camper?
Yes, up to three different people can be named drivers, as before,
there will be an extra insurance charge. We will need to see both
parts of all drivers’ driving licences and a utility bill
belonging to the main driver.
• Why do we have to deliver the van back by 10.00am?
Because we are so well placed in Mid/North Wales, we’re
bound not to be too far away from your chosen campsite, and so
you shouldn’t need to get up too early. But in order for
our next customer to have their chosen campervan in as good a
condition as you enjoyed, we do need time to valet, and check
them without delaying the next booking.
• What happens in the event of a breakdown?
Each camper comes with an AA card with a 24 hour telephone number
on it. On your collection day we will also provide you with a
telephone number to reach us on outside of office hours. As the
main reason for breakdown is caused by a flat battery, each van
has a set of jump leads. In the unlikely event the AA cannot start
your vehicle; we have a spare campervan at our premises. Please
read our terms and conditions.
• What type of fuel do the campers use?
All of our campers run on unleaded petrol.
• Where can I camp?
We provide each van with a brochure from the Camping and Caravan
Club which will entitle you to members’ rates at your chosen
listed site. There are also several campsites with in the Llangynog
and its’ surrounding area. Please also look at our links
page for the Welsh Tourist Board. However, after your holiday
we would particularly welcome hearing about any special places
you have found so that we can pass the information on, but at
the end of the day, what makes a good site is very personal.
We advise using registered sites if for no other reason, than
you can use the amenities.
• Will we need to book the campsite/s in advance?
As the campervans come with an electric hook-up, we would advise
advance booking of your chosen campsite/campsites, especially
during high season and school holidays.
• Is there a limit to where we can travel?
We would ask that you remain within Wales and its’ near
surrounding area during your hire period. However, if you would
like to go farther a field, please let us know.
Note: The insurance included with the campervan hire does not
cover travel outside of mainland Britain.
